Artur Tuznik, a talented pianist and composer born in Poland and now based in Copenhagen, has been acclaimed by Politiken for his “magical calm and adventurous depth.” Winner of multiple international competitions, he has performed throughout Europe, the U.S., and Canada, collaborating with artists like Tomasz Stańko, Jeremy Pelt, Maciej Obara, Thomas Blachman, and the DR Big Band. Since relocating to Denmark in 2008, Tuznik has become a significant figure in the Scandinavian jazz scene. His style seamlessly blends classical influences, Eastern European folk traditions, and swing, creating a rich, expressive sound. He was nominated for the Danish Music Awards Jazz in the Composer of the Year category in 2022.
Recently, Tuznik has performed at major festivals and venues across Denmark, Finland, Belgium, Portugal, and Poland. He has also premiered commissions at Sommerfestivalen Lundsgårds Gods and Klassiske Dage Holstebro. As a member of the DR Big Band, he has appeared on live broadcasts and at anniversary concerts at DR Koncerthuset. His discography includes acclaimed albums such as Spring, Cascades, Quintet, and Artur Tuznik Trio.
Currently, Tuznik teaches piano, composition, and improvisation at the Danish National Academy of Music and has conducted workshops throughout Europe. He studied at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen, graduating with top honors. Tuznik has collaborated with numerous renowned jazz musicians and continues to make a significant impact on the Nordic jazz scene.
