One of the leading Danish drummers over the past 25 years has undoubtedly been Stefan Pasborg. Now, he returns to his roots at La Fontaine, where he played countless concerts back in the ’90s and ’00s. Together with the sublime pianist Jacob Christoffersen, he has assembled the group “INSIDE STRAIGHT” specifically for La Fontaine, joined by bassist Thomas Fonnesbæk and saxophonist Claus Waidtløw—two other musicians from the absolute top shelf. Come and experience these four fantastic musicians perform tracks inspired by the sounds of Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, Cannonball Adderley, and Lee Morgan… an evening dedicated to soul jazz and the groove.

Over the past 50 years, La Fontaine has hosted numerous jazz musicians. Every Sunday, Copenhagen’s top musicians gather at La Fontaine for a jam session. And maybe some of the big-stage stars will show up and join in. Many jazz legends have played on La Fontaine’s small ‘after-hours’ stage, including Ben Webster, Wynton Marsalis, and Lady Gaga.
This Sunday, saxophonist Andreas Toftemark will be directing the music throughout the evening.
Anything can happen during a jazz performance, and La Fontaine is the perfect place to experience it.

Kjeld Lauritsen feat. Niels HP
Kjeld Lauritsen presents soul singer Niels HP in a powerful quartet where blues, jazz, and soul merge into a groove-based and energetic expression. Niels HP is known as one of Europe’s most distinctive voices within soul and jazz, and his stage presence and vocal mastery set the tone for the evening. The internationally acclaimed jazz singer Coco Zhao from Shanghai visits La Fontaine with his characteristically warm vocals and powerful stage presence. He has performed at some of the world’s leading jazz venues and festivals, including Blue Note Shanghai, Beijing Jazz Festival, JZ Festival, and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival.

Anders Gaardmand/Henrik Gunde Quartet
Anders Gaardmand is a prominent figure in the Danish music scene. With roots in the 1970s rock scene and countless studio recordings to his name, he has since established himself as a powerful jazz instrumentalist. After a long period as a professional musician in New York, he returned to Denmark with an energy and experience that still shape his playing today.

Jacob Fischer Kvartet feat. Zier Romme Larsen
Guitarist Jacob Fischer assembles a hard-swinging quartet featuring some of the most promising young talents on the Danish jazz scene. With his vast repertoire and experience from collaborations with the likes of Svend Asmussen, Finn Ziegler, and Hugo Rasmussen, Fischer is a central figure in Danish jazz—and well-known for bringing new generations of musicians to the forefront.
At the piano is Zier Romme Larsen, recipient of the 2023 Ben Webster Prize, whose playing combines energy and finesse with clear inspiration from Oscar Peterson. Bassist Anders Fjeldsted provides a solid, melodic foundation with deeply rooted swing, while drummer Jacob Lindberg adds drive, mastery, and a fresh energy from the Swedish jazz scene.
