Jamsession – Jacob Artved, Gideon Tazelaar & Felix Moseholm

Sunday den 27. September kl. 9:00 pm - 1:00 am

Over the past 50 years, La Fontaine has hosted numerous jazz musicians. Every Sunday, Copenhagen’s top musicians gather at La Fontaine for a jam session. And maybe some of the big-stage stars will show up and join in. Many jazz legends have played on La Fontaine’s small ‘after-hours’ stage, including Ben Webster, Wynton Marsalis, and Lady Gaga.

This Sunday, guitarist Jacob Artved will be directing the music throughout the evening.

Anything can happen during a jazz performance, and La Fontaine is the perfect place to experience it.

  • Bass

Felix Moseholm is one of the most remarkable and talented young bassists on the Danish jazz scene today. Raised in a prominent musical family and educated at the prestigious Juilliard School in New York City, he has spent recent years firmly embedded in the American jazz metropolis. Performing alongside some of the genre’s heavyweights, he has refined a playing style characterized by immense rhythmic authority, a big, resonant tone, and a deep understanding of the jazz tradition. Felix is renowned for providing an unwavering foundation while delivering lyrical, mature solos. Whether collaborating with international stars or performing back home with leading artists like Jacob Artved, he brings an unmistakable New York energy and a world-class standard to the stage.

  • Saxophone

Gideon Tazelaar is one of the most compelling and technically superb saxophonists on the European jazz scene today. Dividing his time between Amsterdam, New York, and now the Scandinavian jazz community, he has developed a style that feels like a direct lineage to the greatest tenor giants of jazz’s golden era. He navigates the lightning-fast complexities of traditional bebop with effortless ease, while seamlessly infusing classic ballads with deep, lyrical warmth. Gideon is renowned for his massive tone and tight interplay, collaborating with international icons like Wynton Marsalis and Dick Oatts as well as leading Danish artists like Jacob Artved. A performance by Gideon Tazelaar is a raw, unadorned, and deeply swinging tribute to the true spirit of jazz.

  • Drums, Guitar

Jacob Artved has rapidly established himself as one of the most prominent and brilliant stars on the Scandinavian jazz scene. Admitted to the Rhythmic Music Conservatory at just 15 years old—the youngest student ever—he soon chose to relocate to New York City to immerse himself in the genre the traditional way: through endless jam sessions in the city’s vibrant club scene. Jacob is renowned for his dazzling technique, a crystal-clear, signature guitar tone, and a remarkably mature grasp of both traditional bebop and contemporary jazz styles. With critically acclaimed releases like Live at Jazzhus Montmartre (featuring drum legend Louis Hayes) and the ambitious, classically-inspired album Metamorphosis, he proves to be a masterful keeper of the flame with a bold, modern vision.
