  • Jacob Fischer Quartet feat. Zier Romme Larsen & Rosa Salamon

    Jacob Fischer will surely be a familiar face to most, not least from his many years with Svend Asmussen or the thousands of concerts with Finn Ziegler and Hugo Rasmussen, but he has also been a prolific leader of his own groups—often featuring brand new talents as fellow musicians. Now, he is the one who has become the veteran, and on this occasion, he is in exquisite company with the captivating, wonderful double bassist and singer Rosa Salamon, who is currently establishing herself on the domestic music scene after a number of years abroad. Pianist Zier Rommel Larsen’s playing—energetic yet sensitive, with Oscar Peterson as a clear inspiration—is truly an experience out of the ordinary. He is the recipient of the 2023 Ben Webster Prize, which Fischer received back in 1996. The quartet is completed by drummer Andreas Svendsen, the most brilliant drum talent seen in many years, who has gradually become one of the most sought-after drummers in Denmark. The evening will offer jazz classics and fresh takes on both well-known and lesser-known seasonal tunes.

    When DuoUtrolig takes the stage, the scene is set for a warm and wonderful experience. Infused with immense musicality and life experience, plenty of great stories are headed your way as Jan Harbeck and Janus Templeton step up to create a truly special and intimate atmosphere together with the audience.   • Martin Schack Trio

    Hammond organist Martin Schack works full-time as a professional freelance musician and has an extensive career touring in Denmark and abroad, both with his own bands and as a sideman. He is also the owner of the music venue “Termansens,” the founder of Ribe Jazz Festival and Jazzcamp Ribe, and serves as an associate professor at the Danish National Academy of Music. Additionally, the trio features the young super-guitarist Pelle von Bülow and Jeppe Gram on drums.

  • Jan Harbeck organ trio featuring Kjeld Lauritsen & Espen Laub

    Jan Harbeck is one of the country’s most sought-after saxophonists, known for his smooth tone and extroverted playing style. He is a recipient of the Ben Webster Prize, and his releases are among the absolute best-selling Danish jazz records of the past 15 years. Tonight, he performs alongside his two colleagues from the church jazz group “Come Sunday,” who have played countless church concerts together. Tonight, the group is firing on all cylinders with juicy swing, heavy funk, and sultry ballads. Kjeld Lauritsen and Espen Laub are the other members of the group.

    One of the leading Danish drummers over the past 25 years has undoubtedly been Stefan Pasborg. Now, he returns to his roots at La Fontaine, where he played countless concerts back in the ’90s and ’00s. Together with the sublime pianist Jacob Christoffersen, he has assembled the group “INSIDE STRAIGHT” specifically for La Fontaine, joined by bassist Thomas Fonnesbæk and saxophonist Claus Waidtløw—two other musicians from the absolute top shelf. Come and experience these four fantastic musicians perform tracks inspired by the sounds of Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers, Cannonball Adderley, and Lee Morgan… an evening dedicated to soul jazz and the groove.

    Swedish Mårten Lundgren is one of the absolute top-class trumpet players in Scandinavia when it comes to warm, melodic, and swinging music with its feet firmly planted in the jazz tradition. In this trio, he has teamed up with guitar virtuoso Jacob Fischer, one of Denmark’s busiest musicians for decades. Together with Ida Hvid’s solid double bass playing, they create a warm, melodic sound where the instrumentalists have room to unfold.   • Anders Gaardmand Kvartet Featuring Ben & David Besiakow

    After 10 years as a successful musician in New York, saxophonist Anders Gaardmand returned to his home country of Denmark. Since then, he has been a fixture among the musicians at La Fontaine in Copenhagen. His funky saxophone playing still carries the energy from his time in the US. Tonight, he presents the rare combination of father and son on the same stage: piano veteran Ben Besiakow and his son, David, on drums. The always wonderful Anders Fjeldsted safely guides the music home with his flawlessly executed bass playing.
