After spending several years as a sideman for both American and Danish jazz icons, pianist and crooner Jan Nielsen formed his own band, Flying Jazzman, in 2016. The band delivers solid, swinging jazz influenced by renowned pianists such as Nat King Cole, Oscar Peterson, and Erroll Garner, as well as organists Jimmy Smith and Jimmy McGriff. Jan Nielsen, the Flying Jazzman, lived in the U.S. for many years, performing in New Orleans and serving as a regular musician at a gospel church in southern Alabama.

Experience the atmosphere of the jazz era, where the sound of Hammond organs with rotating Leslie speakers filled jazz clubs. The Flying Jazzman Organ Quartet is a dynamic ensemble dedicated to reviving the classic sounds of jazz organ combos, reminiscent of legendary players like Jimmy Smith and Jimmy McGriff. Led by Jan Nielsen on organ and vocals, the quartet includes Søren Pedersen on drums, Regin Fuhlendorf on guitar, and Søren Høst on saxophone. Together, they bring the magic of Hammond organ jazz to contemporary audiences, ensuring that the soulful, funky groove lives on for generations to come.
