Jacob Fischer Gypsy Jazz Trio
Wednesday den 14. January 2026 kl. 20:00 - 22:15
This time, the guitar is the focal point as Jacob Fischer unfolds his most Django Reinhardt-inspired side.
He is joined by American gypsy jazz specialist Jason Shooster, originally from Miami, who has traveled the world playing Django-style jazz and even ran a jazz club in Thailand. Tomas Raae, a wonderfully melodic musician with an incredibly beautiful and warm sound on the double bass, completes the trio. Together, they delve into Hot Club classics mixed with their own inventions within gypsy jazz—a fantastically atmospheric and captivating style of jazz created by Django Reinhardt in 1930s Paris in collaboration with violinist Stephane Grappelli.
Jacob Fischer is likely known to many, not least from all his years with Svend Asmussen (who actually played with Django Reinhardt) or his several thousand concerts with Finn Ziegler and Hugo Rasmussen.
