Over the past 50 years, La Fontaine has hosted numerous jazz musicians. Every Sunday, Copenhagen’s top musicians gather at La Fontaine for a jam session. And maybe some of the big-stage stars will show up and join in. Many jazz legends have played on La Fontaine’s small ‘after-hours’ stage, including Ben Webster, Wynton Marsalis, and Lady Gaga.

    Daniel Franck is one of Scandinavia’s most sought-after and respected jazz bassists. Originally from Sweden, but for years a cornerstone of the Copenhagen jazz scene, Franck is known for his big, warm sound and unwavering swing. Deeply rooted in the hard bop tradition, he has toured and recorded with international stars such as Doug Raney, Al Foster, and Kurt Rosenwinkel. His playing is synonymous with rhythmic authority and melodic command.

    Kasper Sundby is an acclaimed Swedish saxophonist who, at a young age, has already established himself as one of the most promising names on the Scandinavian jazz scene. Born and raised in Gothenburg, Sundby has brought his virtuosic, powerful, yet lyrical playing to Copenhagen, where he has quickly garnered significant attention. He blends a deep respect for the jazz tradition with a modern, energetic approach. His ability to combine technical finesse with a warm tone makes him a highly sought-after collaborator and a central figure in the new generation of Nordic jazz musicians.

    Samuel Winter is a rising and highly versatile drummer and percussionist, originally from Sweden. He has made a significant impact on the Nordic jazz and contemporary music scene, where he is known for his organic and intense playing behind the kit. In addition to jazz, he is a permanent member of the acclaimed brass band Eikanger-Bjørsvik Musikklag and performs with opera ensembles. His ability to master both powerful improvisations and complex, lyrical passages makes him a sought-after musician and a key figure among the new generation of Scandinavian rhythmic artists.
