During the jazz festival, some of Copenhagen’s strongest musicians gather every night at La Fontaine for a jam session. Here, the framework is open, and the music arises in the moment—with spontaneity, energy, and interplay at the center.
The jam is led by Rasmus Sørensen, who, with his rock-solid groove and extensive experience, sets the direction for the evening.
The audience can expect everything from classic standards to unpredictable musical moments.

Bass
Jon Henriksson is a prominent Swedish double bassist and composer based in Stockholm, who has established a firm footing on the Scandinavian jazz scene. He is known for his warm, deep tone and a modern approach to composition that blends lyrical Nordic sounds with American jazz traditions. Henriksson leads his own ensembles, including the Shapeshifter Quintet, and released the critically acclaimed album Harmonia in 2024. He is also a highly sought-after collaborator for artists such as Rasmus Sørensen and Håkan Broström.
Piano
Rasmus Sørensen, named Danish Jazz Musician of the Year 2024, moved to New York in 2018 as the first Dane ever to receive a full scholarship to the Manhattan School of Music. He quickly established himself there as one of the city’s most sought-after pianists. Today, Rasmus tours extensively across Europe with his trio and has established himself as an internationally recognized pianist and composer.
Drums
Steinar Heide Bø has rapidly become one of the most sought-after names in the new generation of Scandinavian jazz musicians. He is renowned for his incredible technical virtuosity and for his unique ability to combine explosive power with extremely detailed, nuanced brushwork. As a core member of the critically acclaimed Filip Ekestubbe Trio and through collaborations with soloists like Amanda Ginsburg, he has established himself as a rhythmic engine that constantly challenges and elevates the music. Steinar’s playing is deeply rooted in traditional jazz swing, yet always delivered with a modern intensity and an infectious energy that makes him a standout performer on any live stage.
