Over the past 50 years, La Fontaine has hosted numerous jazz musicians. Every Sunday, Copenhagen’s top musicians gather at La Fontaine for a jam session. And maybe some of the big-stage stars will show up and join in. Many jazz legends have played on La Fontaine’s small ‘after-hours’ stage, including Ben Webster, Wynton Marsalis, and Lady Gaga.

Andreas Fryland is a drummer and percussionist who has established himself as a strong and versatile voice on the Danish jazz and fusion scene. Mads Søndergaard is a Danish jazz pianist and organist known for his versatile and melodically strong playing, which moves between Nordic lyricism, American jazz tradition, and soulful Hammond grooves. A graduate of The Royal Conservatory in The Hague, he has made a name for himself as both a soloist and sideman on the Danish jazz scene, performing regularly at events such as the Copenhagen Jazz Festival. With releases like Art Roho serving Mads Søndergaard, he demonstrates a mature and personal approach that combines improvisation, storytelling, and technical finesse. Søndergaard is a captivating live performer who unites tradition and contemporary jazz in a warm, organic expression.

Tomas Raae is a remarkable bassist and composer who moves effortlessly between jazz improvisation, cinematic soundscapes, and modern pop.
