Alexandre Damasceno is a master of the authentic Brazilian groove and one of the most highly sought-after drummers in contemporary bossa nova, samba, and Brazilian jazz. Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, he has deeply absorbed his country’s rich musical heritage, seamlessly blending it with the fluid improvisation of modern jazz. Alexandre is renowned for his incredibly elegant technique, a light yet exceptionally precise drive, and a masterful instinct for polyrhythms. He has toured the globe, collaborating with international icons as well as leading European artists seeking that genuine, vibrant Brazilian spirit.
