Hammond organist Martin Schack and drummer Kresten Osgood have invited American guitarist Will Bernard on a tour of Denmark, and it is a pleasure for us at La Fontaine to present jazz at the highest international level. Will Bernard is a highly sought-after guitarist on the American funk-jazz scene and has performed with many prominent names in the genre, including Dr. Lonnie Smith, Dr. John, and Tom Waits, among others.

Kresten Osgood is an institution in Danish music and one of the most distinctive, colorful, and unpredictable figures on the international jazz scene. As a drummer, he is an explosive and deeply passionate force of nature, performing with uncompromising energy whether diving into hard-hitting avant-garde, raw swinging bebop, or boundary-pushing free improvisation. Kresten is renowned for his immense musical openness and has shared the stage with a staggering array of global icons, including Yusef Lateef, Paul Bley, and Sam Rivers. He is a musical provocateur and mastermind—constantly challenging conventions, engaging the audience, and reminding us that jazz, above all, is alive, dangerous, and packed with unpredictable magic.

Martin Schack is a versatile and acclaimed Danish pianist and organist, moving fluently between neo-bop, mainstream jazz, and re-interpretations of the Danish songbook. He has an extensive international career, releasing albums on Storyville Records, notably featuring Tom Harrell. Schack is also a prominent cultural figure, serving as a lecturer at the Conservatory of Music, as the owner of the venue Termansens, and as the founder of the Ribe Jazz Festival.

Will Bernard is a master of genre-bending grooves and one of the most distinctive guitarists on the contemporary American jazz and funk scene. Raised in the Bay Area and long embedded in New York City’s progressive music community, he has forged a uniquely personal style where raw jazz improvisation seamlessly blends with gritty soul-jazz, blues, and heavy funk. The Grammy-nominated guitarist is renowned for his razor-sharp rhythmic precision and a signature tone packed with character and grit. Having performed and recorded with heavyweights like John Medeski, Dr. Lonnie Smith, and Tom Waits, Will Bernard consistently delivers a live experience rich in intensity, infectious energy, and an irresistible, hard-driving groove.
