Eliel Lazo is one of the most significant percussionists in the world today. Originally from Havana and now based in Copenhagen, he has captivated global audiences with his explosive energy and technical brilliance. A multi-award winner, including Danish Music Awards, Lazo masterfully blends Cuban traditions with modern jazz and funk. His unique ability to make the drums “speak,” combined with his charismatic vocals, transforms every concert into a festive and intense experience where sitting still is simply not an option.
Saxophone
Fredrik Kronkvist is undoubtedly one of Scandinavia’s most powerful, commanding, and technically superb alto saxophonists. Deeply rooted in the hard-hitting, raw, and swinging traditions of bebop and hard bop, he consistently delivers a rare, explosive energy to the stage. Kronkvist is renowned for his massive, piercing tone and a phenomenal, lightning-fast execution that draws a direct lineage to giants like Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane. His stellar international caliber has led to close collaborations with New York heavyweights such as Jason Marsalis, Aaron Goldberg, and Reuben Rogers. When Fredrik Kronkvist takes the stage, it guarantees an intense, uncompromising, and deeply passionate jazz experience of the highest order.
Drums
Jeppe Gram is known as one of Denmark’s most responsive and sophisticated drummers. With a playing style that always centers on the core of the music, he creates a nuanced and vibrant foundation for any ensemble. Over the years, he has been a steady collaborator for many of the biggest names in Danish jazz and has established himself as a strong bandleader with his own projects, including the critically acclaimed Jeppe Gram Septet. As a recipient of numerous awards and accolades, Jeppe Gram guarantees a musical experience that combines technical mastery with a deep respect for both traditional swing and modern, exploratory jazz.
